Galentine’s Day Fun (McCall’s M7967)

Valentine’s Day has come and gone, but it’s never too late to share a new dress. I had a great time with my girlfriends at a rooftop Valentine’s Day event (socially distanced with masks on, of course). It felt really good to get dressed up, put some makeup on, get out of the house, and spend time outside with friends. Can we talk about how fly I look in this dress though? Let’s get into the details.

The fabric

I found 2 yards of this lovely floral knit fabric at Wal-Mart for $4. Yes, $4! Next time you’re in your local Wal-Mart, swing by the fabric section. You’ll be amazed at the affordable fabrics you can find in the remnant bin.

The pattern

I used McCall’s M7967, and I sewed view B. You can find the pattern here. Knits with moderate stretch are recommended. This was such an easy sew. I cut size XL, but ended up having to take it in A LOT. I think it took me an hour to make in total, including fabric cutting.

Final thoughts

I will definitely make this again, but next time I’ll cut a smaller size. What did you guys do for Valentine’s Day? Did you make anything? I’d love to hear about it in the comments below!
